Be a Product Designer with " ID " thinking !

Hi, I'm Jiahui / Maggie Chang

I was born and grew up in a small township in Taiwan. When I was in college, I was exposed to product design. It was like plugging a spring into a machine, which opened my love for product design. It was also because of contact with design that I realized that design can change the world, make society more friendly, and help many people and things. This is the goal that I yearn for.

Although my past school life and work experience were mostly in industrial design, I also learned in these processes that the fundamentals of industrial design are people-centered, whether human factors engineering or design images are based on human behavior and psychology Development, but with the rapid development of technology, the popularization of 3C products and wearable devices, for me, good design is no longer limited to the appearance of the product, and the user experience is not available in hardware or software products. The missing link is to find the user's pain point in order to solve the user's problem, and good user experience can make technology and design closer to people's hearts, so in terms of interactive design, I want to pursue the direction.

Since I grew up, I have seen too much about social injustice, so I still love design because I believe that in this unequal resource environment, even a small change can make everyone healthy. The basic rights of life make the world a better place.

My Design Process

Research

Collect information by observing users and conducting users and other methods, and conduct research and analysis through existing cases to find innovative opportunities.

define

Combine all research and observe where users' problems exist. Defining target users, building personas and  user journey map.

Design and test

To achieve this goal, produced with minimal resources while meeting the minimum requirements for prototype.  Create assets with varying degrees of fidelity, including paper prototypes, interactive prototypes, wireframes and mockups.

build

Create high-fidelity prototypes, including detailed interface operations, the connection between elements and data item positions, and the format that needs to be input, and communicate closely with engineers to confirm product construction and design.

measure

Let users test the prototype to evaluate the feasibility of the model, and observe and record where the user's needs are not met during the process.

iterate

Let users test prototype that have improved after evaluation, and evaluate the feasibility of improving the product again. I think that there is no end to a product development. Through repeated evaluation and improvement, it gradually improves the user experience and makes the product more complete.
